🦃 Happy Thanksgiving! 🦃

“With a grateful heart,” we begin our prayers. When we begin the day with gratitude, we begin with a positive outlook.
What if you gave someone a donut? That would be pretty sweet (literally and figuratively) for them! But what if that person was fixated on the fact that there was a HOLE in that donut, how could they find enjoyment in that donut? They would just be upset about the missing donut hole. They may not take time to delight in the gift of your generosity, the sweet treat or the way you chose to extend your friendship. They would miss out on so much. Moments like that can happen to us daily if we don’t look for the good.
Some people recommend saying a “10 BEFORE 10” prayer to help us focus on the positive things that we have in our life. The concept is that you list the ten things that happened to you that were awesome every day before 10:00 (AM or PM, your choice). Your prayers might begin with:
Thanksgiving Day would be a great day to begin to practice that prayer with your friends and family. The people at your dinner table could help remind you of all the blessings in your life and you can help them focus on their blessings as well. You might even want to bring some donuts to the Thanksgiving day feast!
Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you!
