Palm Sunday, March 25th, 2018
- 10:00 am -11:00 am -
Walking the labyrinth is a spiritual discipline that has been revived over the last decade. The labyrinth symbolizes a pilgrimage or spiritual journey. As the walker makes the various twists and turns, he or she prays and meditates upon God or Christ. NSUMC has a portable labyrinth which will be available on the our Sport Court, Palm Sunday, March 25th from 9:30-noon. A guide will be included in the bulletin to support those new to the practice.
Our Sunday School children will be invited to participate during the 10:00 am Sunday School time . They will experience five Holy Week stations and learn about the labyrinth. The five stations include: Palm Sunday, the Garden of Gethsemane, the Last Supper, Peter and the Rooster, and the Empty Tomb.
The children will learn that a labyrinth does not have DEAD ENDS! We can never get lost. Walking toward the middle can be like walking towards God’s presence as we think about how we can better focus on God. In the middle we can thank God for our blessings. On our journey out of the labyrinth we can pray about how we can share God’s love to bless others.

Finger Labyrinth

This is a great prayer activity. Have kids make a paper clip chain, if uses colors have them pray something related to color. When done have them put into a labyrinth and then run their fingers around it in a final prayer.
