The EXILE and Return
|
The Israelites learned that they could not return to their homeland and they were sad. They also learned that worshiping God did not have to occur in a temple or in the tent. They learned that God was with them in their new home! This story can be found in 2 Kings 25; 2 Chronicles 36:13-23; Ezra and Nehemiah. It is also found in both Godly Play and Young Children and Worship books.

Miss Olivia told the children the story of the Exile. We talked about how sad it was to have the Temple burned down and how frightening it would be to move to a strange land. We knew how happy the people were to return home and rebuild their Temple. We then had a lot of fun rebuilding our Temple and decorating it with beautiful pictures
