From March 10th to 31st, every Sunday from 10:00 am to 11:30 am, our church located at 11735 North Scottsdale Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85254, will open its doors to the community, inviting visitors to delve into the Stations of the Cross through mesmerizing murals and still artwork. The event is free and open to the public.
The "Lenten Art Walk" promises to lead attendees straight to the heart of Easter, offering a visual narrative of pivotal moments from the Bible. Each of the nine stations has been meticulously designed to depict significant events from Jesus' journey to the cross and beyond, from his triumphant entry into Jerusalem to his glorious resurrection.
The experience is a testament to the enduring power of faith and hope, as visitors meander through the patio and fellowship hall, encountering stories of sacrifice, betrayal, and triumph brought to life through art.
Key stations include Jesus Enters Jerusalem, The Last Supper, Jesus Prays in the Garden, Betrayal by Judas and the Arrest, Jesus is Denied by Peter, The Crown and the Cross, Jesus is Crucified, Jesus Is Placed in the Tomb, and Jesus Is Risen.
"We're excited to offer this unique opportunity for our community to engage with the Easter story in a visually stunning way," said the Rev. Christopher Wurpts, lead pastor at North Scottsdale United Methodist Church. "We hope this “Lenten Art Walk’ will inspire and uplift all who participate, deepening their connection to the true meaning of Easter."
All are welcome to join North Scottsdale United Methodist Church on this spiritual adventure, as they explore art, faith, and the essence of Easter. Mark your calendars and don't miss out on this unforgettable experience!
