World Communion Sunday 2022

Communion Milestone 2020 for 1st - 3rd Grade Students

Our 1st-3rd grade children learn about scripture through our Godly Play lessons.  They also get to learn through ukele's and drums! What a wonderful gift!
North Scottsdale United Methodist Church is Hosting:
"Communion Milestone for 1st - 3rd Grade Students"
Sunday, February 16th, 2020 @ 10:00 a.m.

North Scottsdale United Methodist church is hosting their “2020 Communion Milestone.”   Your first, second and third grade students are invited to celebrate the Communion Milestone with North Scottsdale United Methodist Church!  We are inviting these students to a Milestone Celebration just for them on Sunday, February 16th, @ 10:00am in the NSUMC sanctuary located at, 11735 North Scottsdale Road, Scottsdale, AZ, 85254

The Sunday School teachers have been teaching the students about communion throughout the months of January and February to help the students to better understand a very important part of the worship service. They have learned about the last supper, the elements of the Seder meal, the imagery and significance of the ritual.  During the Milestone Celebration the students will share their craftivities and what they have learned about their communion experiences.

All students are invited if they have attended one, all of the Sunday School classes or if they just want to learn more this Sunday.  If you have any questions, please email   terry@nsumc.com .

North Scottsdale United Methodist Church celebrates the love of God through Christ by having two services on Sunday (8:30 am and 10:00 am).  Sunday School and the nursery is available for newborns through twelve year old children at both services.  Youth Sunday School (grades six through twelve) will have Sunday school during the 10:00a.m. service.  Some of the other children and youth activities include; children’s choir, youth band, volleyball, mission trips, small groups, festivals and youth groups.  N.S.U.M.C. also offers adult Bible studies, men and women’s groups, choirs, retreats, holiday events, turn-around trips, mission trips and more.

Bucket Filler (aka Golden Rule) Milestone 2015

Thank you to our first and second grade Sunday School classrooms for sharing their “Bucket Filler” milestone with us on February 8th, 2015. Their teachers put a twist on the the "Golden Rule" by presenting this concept through the book “Have You Filled a Bucket Today?” by Carol Mc Cloud. The book’s message is that we fill each other’s invisible buckets when we show respect and kindness to others. When we are unkind to others, we dip in their bucket and it empties our own. Our happiness increases when we treat each other well.

We are so proud of what our children accomplished and shared with the congregation by learning about how to be a bucket filler.  At the end of the service the first and second grade students handed out bucket filler postcard reminders to the entire congregation as they stood in the receiving line following the benediction.
